Mrs. Orcutt’s boarding house is home to sixteen young women who have come to New York to study acting and find jobs. Their hopes and ambitions for success in the theatre come to varying ends, including marriage for one, a film career for another, and, yes, a Broadway lead for one talented and focused girl.
